You say we can't. I say we have to start sometime! We can't wait for the ET's to land, the DNA to change, etc., etc. The point of power is in the present moment!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02742026436206221165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2177763353075829101.post-62385825241124009432010-01-20T00:29:48.372-08:002010-01-20T00:29:48.372-08:00You know, I am not so sure that the American peopl...You know, I am not so sure that the American people were ever really looking for "a saviour".

I think their expectations were much lower than that. Having endured so many decades of lies and scandals, most intelligent people expected nothing more from Obama, by way of "Change", than an emerging modicum of truth.

Truth in politics, though, is like safety in vaccines. It is an oxymoron. Politics has been set up in such a way that it has never served the interests of the people, nor have any policies ever been implemented that do not favour the interests of the corporate lobbyists.

If people have become disappointed in Obama, it is not so much that they expected massive changes, it is merely that they anticipated a small detour from the 100%, incessant dissemination of propaganda, subterfuge and calumny that have been the hallmarks of so many preceding administrations.

But, even that small concession appears to be unavailable.

I think most people have the kind of feeling about Obama that they have the morning after the lottery draw.
A nice dream, but real life continues.Sihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16048484818901603305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2177763353075829101.post-26085118470969175042010-01-20T00:04:48.753-08:002010-01-20T00:04:48.753-08:00To be honest Jen, my opinion of Obama has become s...To be honest Jen, my opinion of Obama has become so tainted that I am unable to watch him on TV, or to even listen to his voice any further. All I hear is lies and false promises, and it makes me want to vomit.

As soon as I hear his voice, I change the channel.... muttering expletives under my breath. And this is how things used to be with my opinion of Bush.

Obama is now no different from all the other lying scumbags that we have in the political arena. And I can't listen to them either.

He has let people down so badly that he will never now recover - whatever he does.

I want nothing more to do with this man.

I personally have never needed anyone to help me in my quest for self-actualisation, or self-empowerment. I will get to my destination all on my own.

Thus, I wasn't holding him up as my saviour, or any one else's. All I had hoped we would see from Obama was some truth.

He has failed miserably. And I really don't care - not for myself. I am just disappointed for all the people who trusted him, and were relying on his integrity for a better world.Sihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16048484818901603305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2177763353075829101.post-44336359482146474392010-01-18T15:48:10.013-08:002010-01-18T15:48:10.013-08:00Thank you Clarissa, glad you

It's how things work!

We really have to get out of the "us and them," victim-perpetrator game, that's what is keeping us back.Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02742026436206221165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2177763353075829101.post-13144239003051623192010-01-18T01:52:58.472-08:002010-01-18T01:52:58.472-08:00Nice.
It stands as one of the less emotional pro-...Nice.

It stands as one of the less emotional pro-Obama essays - though more philosophical than pragmatic.

Many others have looked at what Obama has actually done, at the decisions he has made, at the people he has put into power, at the many disingenuous promises he has mouthed..... and they have come to very different conclusions.

Politics and philosophy are not the best of bedfellows. Most people who are studying Obama are not looking beyond the practicalities of his actions. These sorts are not interested in protracted meanderings into philosophical and metaphysical memes, or subtleties behind what he might be saying. They simply look at facts.

And those facts speak volumes.

Yes, from a higher perspective, the state of the earth is an out-picturing of the collective consciousness. The trouble is, the vast majority of the people who are contributing to this consciousness are NOT self-empowered; are NOT aware that their thoughts create their realities; are NOT looking inside for the changes that we need; are NOT modifying their behaviour to create what they see as a better way. That's why the world is the way it is. The perfect mirror for a victim mindset.

These people are looking for their government, and its "elected representatives" to do the job, as has always been expected - as they have been trained and programmed to expect.

And when these representatives of the people categorically don't deliver, then everyone gets really pissed.

If Obama had made even ONE decision; taken ONE affirmative action - done anything at all to appease this general annoyance, then he might have had a case in court. As it stands, everything he has done has served to maintain the banking / corporate / war status quo, and nothing else. This Haiti debacle, and his appointment of Bush and Clinton to oversee the money collection, is a classic example of his lap-dog obedience to the elite cabals.

[See World Reports: http://www.worldreports.org/news/262_clintbush_were_stealing_haitis_katrina_cash]

It's not really surprising that people want to string him up, is it?Sihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16048484818901603305noreply@blogger.com
